Design & Engineering

Our engineering staff includes mold designers, manufacturing engineers, and programmers, using a combination of:

		SolidWorks for solid modeling and engineering.
		SurfCam for CNC programming.
		Esprit for wire EDM programming.

All of HPM's employees are experienced with SolidWorks, and many are proficient in multiple disciplines (design, programming, and/or machining). This allows us to seamlessly shift employees from one job function to the other as job priorities change.

All manufacturing work is performed to the SolidWorks mold components provided by the engineering team, while referencing fully-detailed mold prints in the shop. Finished component models are released to manufacturing per HPM’s internal document control protocol, which includes procedures for file management, engineering changes, and network access rights so everyone works to the correct models.

Models and prints are brought to "as-built" status at the end of each job, ensuring that future modifications, repairs, and spares orders are completed quickly and accurately.
